Welcome!

Thanks for visiting! I'm fairly new to the couponing world and I created this blog to showcase my savings as I strive to find the greatest deals for my family. My name is Haley and I'm a 29-year-old from East Tennessee. I consider myself a pretty "thrifty" person. I'm always on the lookout for ways to save my family money. I had my first "extreme" couponing adventure in June, and after seeing how much I could buy with just a little bit of money, I was hooked.

I'd always been a fan of coupons and used them periodically to purchase things. For example, if we were out of shampoo, I'd head to Wal-Mart, buy a bottle at regular price, and use my coupon. However, I've learned that if I pair my coupon with a sale, I can score MAJOR savings! I can usually get the brands I prefer at prices I'd never even dreamed of paying. Part of the fun is scanning the weekly sales flyers and matching up coupons to optimize my savings.

Check back often because I'll share pictures and details about my shopping trips, ideas about where to get coupons, how I plan each week, and any tips I might have. I'll end this first post with a picture of the trip that started it all. It's a relatively small trip compared to more recent shopping adventures, but it was my first time walking away thinking, "Wow... did I really just do that?"

These items were purchased at CVS on June 19th. I bought 3 Fuze drinks, 2 Vitamin waters, Schick Quattro for Women razor with 2 bonus body washes, Colgate toothpaste, Colgate toothbrush, a bag of Hershey's Bliss chocolates, 2 large Dove chocolate bars, and 2 small Essence of Beauty hand sanitizers. The total retail for those items were $30.56 + tax. I paid $8.96 + tax and had $4 in Extra Care Bucks leftover for my next purchase. That's like paying $4.96! I saved $25.60 or about 84%.
