Shopping Trip - 2/19/12

Another week of drugstore shopping! I only hit up CVS and Rite Aid today. Walgreens didn't have anything I wanted.

I bought 38 items for a total of $16.52 plus tax. Total with tax was $25.53--almost 35% of my total out-of-pocket. Have I said how much I dislike our sales tax rate lately? Total retail for these items with sale prices was $112.25 plus tax ($121.26.) That means I saved $95.73 or 79%. I have $39.49 in rewards remaining. Awesome!

Purchased items include 4 Diet Coke 12pks, Reese's Puffs cereal, Cocoa Puffs cereal, 2 Lucky Charms cereal, Keebler Fudge Sticks, Keebler Pecan Sandies, 2 Planter's Nuts, 3 packs Eclipse gum, 3 Nature Made folic acid 250ct, Nature Made magnesium 200ct, 2 bags Popcorn Indiana popcorn, Twix candy bar, Butterfinger candy bar, 2 Nivea creme tins, 5 Garnier Fructis hair stylers, Vaseline Aloe Fresh lotion, Vick's Nature Fusion liquid, Vick's Nature Fusion caplets, Colgate Total Advanced toothpaste, Tylenol Precise heat patches 3pk, Boiron Coldcalm with FREE bonus box, and two boxes valentines.

Here's a breakdown of each store.

Rite Aid

I started with a $5 Single Check Rebate check I earned sometime back in January. I also had $79 credit towards the Winter Rewards promotion--$20 UPs when you buy $100 in participating products. Italicized items were part of the promotion.

I exceeded my $100 Winter Rewards promotion, but since it is limit one per card, no future purchases will count towards another reward. However, I did notice my receipt was tracking an Advil $10 UP when you buy $25. It said I had $4, so it must consider Colgate as part of the Advil family. Since the limit on the toothpaste was 4, I may go back later in the week and buy 3 more Colgate and 2 Advil Congestion. We’ll see.

Free pizza!

Remember that Papa John's Super Bowl coin toss promotion? If America called the coin toss correctly, you won a free large one-topping pizza and a Pepsi Max 2-liter. This was only available to Papa John's rewards members.

Well, America called it correctly! I received a confirmation email with a promo code for a free pizza and 2-liter. I had to order online, which I'd never done before, but luckily everything went through just fine.

So, here's my free three-cheese blend pizza and Pepsi Max. Everything always tastes better when it's free! This was perfect for my hubby and me on a Saturday night in.

Mail Call -- Week of 2/5 - 2/11

I'm so far behind on this blog (and my other one!) that it's not even funny. Here's my Mail Call for the week of February 5th - February 11th.

I got some Meow Mix coupons, including a coupon for a free item.

I got a coupon for a free box of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. I remember this was from their Macsurance Facebook promotion. Chad almost threw the envelope away because it looked like junk mail from an insurance company.

Finally, I got a Secret Clinical Strength deodorant. I'm pretty sure this is just trial size. I don't even remember when I signed up for this, but I'm happy to have it!

That was all. Pretty slow mail week.
